By choosing Extra Care Protection (ECP), your brand new Toyota is equipped with coverage that is safeguarded against unexpected mechanical breakdowns, road emergencies, and other potential issues that may arise. This provides an affordable and practical solution for ensuring your peace of mind and preserving the value of your investment. ECP is designed to enrich the overall ownership experience of your new Toyota and can help increase its resale value in the long run.

But my Toyota already has a factory warranty!

Indeed, the Toyota factory warranty is top-notch. Nonetheless, ECP goes above and beyond. It can offer you and your Toyota coverage that includes the Oil and Filter Program (first four lubrications only)*, towing, emergency road service, rental assistance, trip interruption assistance, tire road hazard protection, and travel planning assistance. ECP can also take over with mechanical protection after your Toyota factory warranty expires, providing coverage for up to seven years or 200,000 kilometers.

Components We Don't Cover

Parts that are not covered include all types of glass (including mirrors, windshields, and rear windows with defroster), fog lamps, lenses, sealed beams, lamps, light bulbs, tires (only for the 36/50 plans), wheels or wheel studs, trim, seat frames, convertible tops, moldings, weather-strips, bright metal, sheet metal, body parts (including the frame), bumpers, upholstery, carpet, paint, brake rotors and drums, brake linings and pads, batteries and cables, distributor caps and rotors, carburetors, manual clutch disc lining, pressure plates and bushings, throw-out bearings, catalytic converters (which may be covered by Emission Control Systems Warranties), exhaust systems, and any non-manufacturer installed accessories.

Furthermore, maintenance services and parts, encompassing lubricants, filters, belts, hoses, wheel alignment, balancing, air and water leaks adjustments, as well as bumper, sheet metal, body parts and glass alignment to reduce wind noise, squeaks and rattles, are not included in the coverage.

Extra Care Protection Plan Coverage

By allowing for the transfer of coverage, Extra Care Protection can help enhance the resale value of your Toyota. To transfer the coverage, simply complete and sign the transfer form provided by ECP at the time of sale. Unlike the Oil and Filter program and the tire road hazard protection plan, there is no extra charge for transferring the coverage. By choosing ECP, you can get better value even when you decide to sell your Toyota. *Plan must be purchased within 31 days of vehicle registration date.
ECP ensures that you are always covered, given that your Toyota is comprised of thousands of moving parts. With your Extra Care Protection plan, you receive:

  • You can choose from a variety of kilometre limits to suit your specific driving requirements and preferences. Additionally, ECP offers flexible term options to accommodate your needs.

In order to maintain your new vehicle in good condition, it is recommended to have lubrication intervals every 6 months or 8,000 km, whichever comes first. However, to avail of this benefit, you need to purchase your ECP agreement within 31 days of the vehicle registration date. The Oil & Filter Program covers each lubrication interval and includes the following services:
  • Replace engine oil and filter
  • Remove and inspect air filter element
  • Lubricate locks, latches & hinges
  • Inspect lights, horn & wipers for proper function
  • Inspect coolant, brake & washer fluid levels
  • Inspect tires for damage and wear
ECP assists you in returning home safely, even if your vehicle needs to be left at the repair shop overnight due to the malfunction of a covered part.
  • Up to $40 a day for a max. of 5 days rental
  • Additional 5 days if parts are on back-order
  • Up to $400 rental assistance per occurrence
Road Hazard Protection keeps you rolling for up to 36 months/50,000 kms coverage of original tires:
  • Tire repair or replacement

If a covered component fails when you are more than 300 km away from your home, simply call the toll-free number provided by ECP. They will assist you by offering up to $100 per day for a maximum of 3 days, which amounts to a total of $300 per occurrence.
